The Kansas Department of Transportation expresses its appreciation for employees celebrating state service anniversaries in March. KDOT is proud to acknowledge them for the long-term dedication they have provided to the state of Kansas. One of those they are celebrating is from Garnett. Donna Schmidt, a Bridge Team Leader for KDOT has been on the job for 10 years. Congratulations Donna, and keep up the good work.

Another reminder that USD 365 Anderson County will be having a kindergarten round up soon. Any child that will be five years old on or before August 31st is eligible to attend kindergarten next fall. Appointment are now being taken for roundup screenings. Those include academic screening, turning in the appropriate paperwork, like birth certificate, immunization log and others. You’ll also meet the school staff and teachers, and have a snack. Garnett Elementary is April 2nd, Westphalia School is April 3rd, and Greely Elementary is April 4th.
