As of noon, June 3rd, the Kansas House Democrats have candidates in 92 Districts filed to run for State Representative. This is more than another election in recent history. House Democratic Leader Vic Miller says with the exception of one district, House Democrats filed a candidate in every seat won by Governor Laura Kelly. Only two seats are needed to break the supermajority this year. Every single district that has been deemed a strategic opportunity has a Democratic candidate.

Miller adds that that it was no accident that so many women filed to run this year. He claims that women are sick and tired of being silenced, and they’re not holding back. He says the Democratic candidates reflect Kansans, adding that they are hard working, humble, and diverse. Miller predicts it’s going to be a great election cycle for Democrats, saying he can feel it.
