The City of Ottawa made a decision a little more than a year ago to install a splash pad at city park. That splash pad has been overwhelmingly attended this summer. Although the city wanted to keep the amenity open into the fall season, that could have changed last week. Yesterday, they posted a notice on their facebook page that due to a malfunctioning water control valve, that was causing the water to run continuously without shutting off, they have to close it. They have contacted the manufacturer and are working on resolving the issue as soon as possible. However, it is not know if the splash pad will be able to reopen this season.
They apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the public’s understanding. If it is not reopened this season, Ottawans can look forward to late spring of 2025 when it opens again.
