The President of Baker University has resigned. Lynne Murray, who has been the president the past 10 years, will step down effective December 31st. Murray says she will work alongside the Board of Trustees to “ensure a smooth transition of leadership while the university launches a search for a new president”.
Baker Board of Trustee members says they are profoundly grateful for her service and she has left an permanent impact on the university.
One of Murrays notable accomplishments is the “Forever Orange” campaign, which substantially strengthened Baker’s endowment and provided a solid foundation for future progress. That, along with the challenges of navigating the covid pandemic to ensure the safety and health of the campus and community, were cited in the media release.
Murray is the 29th President of Baker since 1858. Baker’s Board of Trustees will begin a national search for the next president immediately.
