After years of waiting, Proximity Park will soon be busy with construction activity. It was announced at the Ottawa Commission meeting that the whole space has been sold to Lightfield Energy for a power plant that will power various technology projects in other parts of the country. Ottawa City Attorney Blaine Finch says it truly is a big deal:
Finch says by not asking for a 100% tax abatement, this means the company will start paying at least some property taxes immediately. He also emphasized that this was not connected to a solar field planned by the Orion Company in that area and that Lightfield would proceed with the project regardless of that decision.
