The sale of Proximity Park to Lightfield Energy to build a power plant and a data processing and storage facility has some residents concerned that since lightfield is associated with solar energy, the project will fuel the need for solar panel fields in the area. However, company representative Andy Hilburt says solar is not the way they are leaning:
The City of Ottawa is selling all 300 acres of Proximity Park to Lightfield. Lightfield says they would like to work with area high schools and colleges to help train students to do the jobs at the facility and build a strong local workforce.
