The City of Ottawa took over the Great Life Golf Course Monday, December 30th. The City of Ottawa purchased the course from the Ottawa Country Club Group in 2023, citing the importance of a municipal course in attracting business and industry to a potentially growing city. The city has been working with Great Life to provide a seamless transition for all current members and the local golfing community, and all existing memberships will stay valid through March. Ottawa hopes to have improved course maintenance, new programs and events for golfers of all skill levels, including tournaments, clinics and more.

The City of Ottawa has announced the hiring of Rob Mlynar as the new general manager and head golf professional for the course. He is a native of Lyndon and Ottawa University alumnus and has spent over 10 years as an associate golf professional at Ironhorse Golf Club and leadership roles at other courses. He is excited to return to the Ottawa area with a strong connection to the community and understanding of the importance of the Ottawa course to the community. He will begin working with golfers on January 15th with the reopening of the Ottawa Golf Course under city management.
