When the City of Ottawa announced the sale of Proximity Park to Lightfield Energy recently to build a technology campus, data storage facility and more, several commissioners reflected on the decisions made by past commissioners. Commissioner Eric Crowley made mention of the distant past and those in the not so distant past who have made economic commitment to Ottawa:
Lightfield would like to begin construction in 2025 and work with area high school and colleges to help train potential workers for their facility, which initially will create about 100 jobs, double that in future phases of the project.
