The Ottawa Cold Weather Emergency Shelter will be open again tonight at First Baptist Church. There will be a free meal starting at 5:00 this afternoon, and anyone needing a meal, regardless if you plan to stay at the shelter, is welcome. There are also free blankets and gloves for the taking. The shelter is open on nights when the temperature dips below 20 degrees. They need your help. Franklin County United Way Director, Leigh Hanson, says the need for volunteers is great:
If you would like to volunteer your time to help those in great need of protection from the cold, go to the Franklin County Coalition to End Homelessness facebook page to fill out the necessary forms, or contact Brett Stanselow directly on his facebook, messenger, or call us at KOFO if you need help contacting him.
