An accident near the Williamsburg exit on I-35 on Tuesday, March 19th, injured a Kansas City man. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 1400 block of I-35 just after 1:30 that afternoon for a report of an accident involving two semi trucks. A truck operated by 45-year-old Sergio Contreras, of Texas was parked on the southbound shoulder in his Kenworth, when he was rear ended by a Freightliner driven by 42-year-old Robert Lane of Kansas City, Missouri. Debris from both trucks scattered across the road way and the highway was shut down for a period of time while first responders worked the scene and crews cleared the trucks and debris from the road.

Lane was transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash. Both vehicles were considered a total loss.
