The new water tower southeast of Ottawa is near completion. It is newly painted with “Ottawa” emblazoned in bold letters on each side. The city of Ottawa says the new tower will insure a reliable water supply for the community. City Manager Brian Silcott:

The new tank will hold 500,000 gallons of water, and will replace the old tanks on 15th Street and on Dundee Street that are 400,000 gallons each and were built 70 years ago, in 1954. The project is expected to be completed soon. Silcott says there will be a period of time when all three tanks will be working at the same time. He says the city will provide notices to people when the new tank goes online.
