The incident on I-35 Tuesday, April 9th, where Franklin County Deputies chased a vehicle that sped away from a traffic stop and that suspect fired shots at them during the chase, was mentioned at the Franklin County Commission meeting. Sheriff Jeff Richards says 11 different agencies assisted in bringing the situation to a peaceful close, and says his deputies are seeing this behavior more regularly:
He also said the SWAT operation in the 400 block of Ash Street Wednesday morning, April 10th, was unrelated to Tuesday’s incident. One arrest was made in that case, but the identity of that person and charges they face have not been released.
