If you feel different, you drive different. That’s the message from police departments urging people to stay sober behind the wheel. April 20th marks an unofficial marijuana holiday for some and police say there will likely be an increase in marijuana use; however, laws changing around the country may be one thing, but impaired driving is illegal and deadly. Local officers say it doesn’t matter what you call it, if you are impaired, don’t get behind the wheel. They are asking the community to use good judgement and obey the law, make safe choices, because those choice don’t just effect you, but everyone on the road.

If you plan on using marijuana on 4/20, or any other day, don’t drive. If you find yourself in a vehicle, while impaired, give your keys to a sober driver who can get you home safely. And if you have a friend who is about to drive high or impaired in any way, take their keys away and help them get home safely. They will thank you later. If you see an impaired driver on the road, call the police.
