The city of Ottawa has started construction of a new shelter house in forest park, on the southwest side of the parks. Recently, Power of the Past Association donated $50,000 toward the building. Group President, Dave Reeves, said that a member who passed away had left some money as a good start toward a new shelter:
City officials say that the new shelter will provide a wonderful space for gatherings, picnics and community events in the park. Whether it’s a family reunion, a birthday celebration, or just a relaxing afternoon in nature, this shelter house will be the perfect spot for all to enjoy.
