A very unique program coming up next week in Garnett. The Anderson County Historical Society will hold a banquet Thursday, May 2nd, and the speaker will be Mark Twain…wait, what…who? Ken Church, who portrays Mark Twain, will be speaking. Church has impersonated Twain for more than fifty-two years. He will be appealing to people he calls “Twainiacs”…those who share the love of Mark Twain’s words, his books, his devotion to country and his fierce reverence for America’s freedom of expression. It is especially popular with those who have a deep love of history, literature, and humor. You can expect to hear Twain’s wicked sense of humor, the lengthy pauses for effect and his intimate descriptions.

It’s going to be held at the Dutch Country Café, Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30. Tickets for the banquet are only $23, but, you need to be registered by Monday April 29th. Tickets can be purchased from members of the Board of Directors, or by calling 785-448-7562. Get your tickets now!
