The Ottawa Electric Utility has received a major national award. They were presented with the American Public Power Association’s “Reliable Public Power Provider Platinum Designations”. The award reflects a high level, 90 to 99% of proficiency in all essential disciplines of reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Utilities Director Dennis Tharp, spoke to the importance of the award:
The award was a culmination of several years worth of work and reporting, in which Tharp was a big part of. Only 91 utilities in the entire Nation received the award, only 6 of those in Kansas
